Official transcripts from a high school or other secondary school in English are required for all students.
If you wish to transfer credits from another college or university, make sure to indicate that you are a transfer student on the application and forward your college transcripts, also. You will receive an evaluation of your credits during Orientation.

In the BS in Nursing program at IUP, youll prepare for a career as a registered nurse. RNs are patient advocates concerned with promoting health and wellness, preventing disease, and helping both patients and their families cope with health care concerns. Our curriculum prepares you to meet the challenges of this rewarding profession.Youll spend your first year taking required science and liberal studies courses. Nursing courses and clinicals begin in the first semester of your sophomore year. Clinical sites utilized in the program include a variety of agencies within approximately a 60-mile radius of Indiana, Pennsylvania, including Greensburg, Latrobe, DuBois, and occasionally the Pittsburgh area.<br><br>The program outcomes include the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) core competencies of baccalaureate nursing education: assessment, communication, critical thinking, and technical skills. Professional role development is added as a fifth outcome.<br><br>The baccalaureate program prepares graduates to:<br><br>Assimilate Evidence Based practice and critical thinking for the delivery of optimal health care.<br><br>Integrate information and technology to achieve optimal health care outcomes.<br><br>Communicate effectively with clients, families, communities, and health care professionals to deliver safe, quality health care.<br><br>Provide safe nursing care across the lifespan for all levels of prevention through individual and collaborative relationships. <br><br>Assume leadership roles that advocate for the client and profession.<br><br>Demonstrate the professional standards of moral, ethical and legal conduct.
