The freshman Indiana State University application is for entering freshmen who are (or soon will be) high school graduates and have not attended another college after graduating from high school. High school students may apply to Indiana State University any time after completion of their junior year in high school.

English Language Requirements:

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): A minimum iBT score of 61; a minimum CBT score of 173; or a minimum paper-based score of 500
International English Language Testing System (IELTS): minimum score of 6.0 (or higher)
ELS Language Training Program: successful completion of level 112 (or higher)

Indiana State offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) for students entering without RN or LPN licensure. This traditional four-year, campus-based baccalaureate degree is excellent preparation for great careers as a registered nurse (RN), including leadership roles. The School of Nursing admitted the first class of students in September 1962. Since that time, our mission has been to develop students who are competent, caring nursing professionals, leaders, and productive citizens. In the second quarter of 2023, all graduates of Indiana State’s traditional four-year nursing program passed the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) on their first attempt.
