You will acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required by employers to deliver effective services to people with addiction and mental health concerns, while promoting recovery, self-determination and optimal quality of life. The curriculum examines social determinants of health, recovery principles, empowering practices and trauma-informed approaches, ensuring graduates are prepared for the workforce.<br><br>Engage and develop new skills while gaining crucial on-the-job work experience. Field experience takes place in the final semester of the program and enables students to apply theory to practice in a workplace or project-based setting. Students also complete coursework and attend seminar classes alongside the field experience. Qualify for employment in various organizations including community mental health and addiction services, residential treatment centres, youth and family services, housing services, and crisis response services.
