To be eligible for admission to an associate degree program at HCC, applicants must submit documentation that they have the equivalent of one of the following:

high school equivalency certificate (GED)
Associate or higher degree
standard high school diploma
High School

If you graduated from a high school in the United States, please request that final, official transcripts be sent to HCC in a sealed envelope or electronically directly from your high school by the given application deadline. Transcripts must include your final grades and graduation date. Opened transcripts are considered to be unofficial and will not be accepted.

IELTS academic overall band score of 5.5 or higher
TOEFL score of 61 (iBT) or higher.

The respiratory care AS degree prepares you to treat patients who have difficulty breathing due to pulmonary or cardiac disease. Learn to work with premature infants, children, trauma victims and patients requiring life support. Respiratory therapists work in physician offices, home care setting, skilled nursing facilities, rehabilitation centers, sleep study departments and hospitals. The need for respiratory therapists continues to increase due to a growing elderly population, environmental problems, and technological advances in the treatment of lung disease, heart attack, cancer, accident victims and premature babies.
