国际学生入学条件
While the majority of accepted applicants have completed requirements for a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science degree prior to matriculation at the School of Dental Medicine, the absolute minimum prerequisite for admission to the School of Dental Medicine is successful completion of three academic years – 90 semester or 135 quarter hours – of undergraduate course work. This includes the specified subjects listed in the following table, at an accredited college or university in the United States. Credits are accepted from community and junior colleges, but it is recommended that most work be completed at a four-year institution. In addition to the stated prerequisites, preference will be given to applicants demonstrating exemplary academic performance in additional higher-level science courses while taking full academic loads. Science courses should not be survey courses or other such courses designed for non-science majors.
Applicants are required to complete the following coursework with a C or better by July of the intended entering year. Grades of D or lower will not be accepted. The SIU School of Dental Medicine will accept pass/fail grades for Spring 2020 coursework, recognizing the many changes due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

课程简介
The educational goal of the SIU School of Dental Medicine's D.M.D. program is to prepare our graduates to become the best general practitioners of dentistry in the country. The dental education curriculum requires all students to participate in a four-year course of study that culminates in the awarding of a doctor of dental medicine degree. The School's small student body and intimate environment promote an unusually high level of interaction among students and faculty. Historically, students from the SIU School of Dental Medicine achieve exceptionally high first-time pass rates on the National Board Dental Exams. Passing the exams is required for licensure in the United States and is a strong indicator of student preparedness to practice dentistry. As students approach graduation, the School actively assists them in choosing and pursuing their personal post graduate interests. Each year, a few more than half of the School's new graduates enter private practice, while 25 percent choose to continue their education in graduate and specialty programs in hospitals and universities throughout the country. Others pursue options including military or public health service, dental research, dental education, and careers in a variety of government agencies
