Our pre-health professions programs provide you with the necessary foundation for a successful career in medicine, dentistry, veterinary practice, optometry, medical technology and other health professions.Many universities only offer majors in biology or chemistry for students pursuing a career in one of these health professions, but our curriculum offers a much broader education through diverse class offerings and unique partnerships with schools in the region, ensuring you’ll be application-ready when you complete our program.Dentists all over the world are needed to diagnose and treat problems with our teeth and gums by doing everything from routine cleanings, to straightening teeth, to performing specialized surgical procedures.Ball State’s pre-dentistry preparation major blends foundational coursework in biology, chemistry, physics and other subjects that are needed for graduates to be admitted to dental schools certified by the American Dental Education Association. You will also have the flexibility to add a second major that matches your interests and bolsters your skillset in the event you do not attend dental school.And while most dental school students complete four years of coursework at the undergraduate level, exceptional students guided by our pre-health professions advisors can potentially graduate in just three years.
