During your final year, the industrial pharmacy major allows you to take advantage of the faculty's close links with industry hosts and to undertake an extended professional placement in an industry setting. The placement may be research-based. You will enrol in PHAR4831 Pharmacy Industrial Placement (24 credit points). Admission requires a WAM of at least 65 in year two and three units of study. Pharmacists are an integral part of the healthcare system and have the capacity to directly affect the lives and lifestyles of the people with whom they interact. There are a wide variety of career choices open to registered pharmacists. Examples include retail pharmacy (community practice), hospital pharmacy, research positions within universities or research institutes, or positions in the pharmaceutical industry in drug production, marketing of drug development.
