课程简介
The Arnold & Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences now offers a dual Pharm.D./M.P.H. degree in conjunction with the LIU Brooklyn, School of Health Professions, Department of Public Health. A government public health work force briefing in February 2017 sponsored by the Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health (ASPPH) estimated that by 2020, an additional 250,000 public health workers will be needed to replenish a work force shortage that would leave the nation vulnerable to a range of public health threats. Pharmacists with extensive public health training are well-positioned for broader career opportunities in pharmacy practice, community outreach organizations, public health agencies such as the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and research institutions in the private sector.

Students entering the first professional year in pharmacy (P3) have the option of enrolling in a predetermined sequence of M.P.H. coursework. Pharm.D. students must be in good academic standing and meet the minimum academic requirements of both the Pharm.D. and M.P.H. programs prior to applying to the dual degree program. If accepted, students must meet the academic standards of both the College of Pharmacy and the School of Health Professions. Having successfully met the admissions criteria, students will be accepted in the Pharm.D./M.P.H. dual degree program. The School of Health Professions, Department of Public Health, will handle the application process.
