Memorial's School of Pharmacy provides cutting-edge research in an up-close and personal environment. The School of Pharmacy provides graduate students with the opportunity to conduct original research related to Drug Discovery and Delivery, Health Outcomes, and the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. There are several research laboratories, including separate rooms for organic synthesisnatural products chemistry, a cell culture facility, pharmacology labs and state of the art computer networks. All offices and research laboratories in the Health Sciences Centre are connected as a part of the MUNet, a high-speed network linking the campus with the world.Graduate supervisors in Memorial’s School of Pharmacy are engaged in research in the following areas:Health Outcomes research assesses the end results of health care services, providing evidence for the value of specific medical treatmentes or interventions that can be used to make better decisions and improve health care. It includes the definition and characterization of macromolecular substrates that serve as targets for drug design. When a new drug is discovered, it must also be determined if that drug can be delivered to the right part of the body in order to be effective.
