Speech-language pathologists assess and treat children and adults with language, voice, fluency, articulatory and phonologic disorders, cognitive, as well as swallowing problems. They provide the technology to assist with functional communication and to enhance communication in daily activities. Audiologists diagnose and treat individuals with hearing and balance disorders, and provide services that include fitting and dispensing hearing aids or other assistive devices, counseling individuals concerning hearing loss, providing auditory rehabilitation and making noise measurements.Preprofessional curriculum provides foundations in knowledge of the sciences and basic human communication and swallowing processes in order to prepare the student to apply to a graduate program in audiology or speech-language pathology.Clinical experience is gained at the graduate level.
