Official transcript(s). Unofficial transcript(s) will suffice during review, but official transcripts must be received and grades confirmed upon acceptance. In general, a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 or better. LSU students do not need to send transcripts to the department. Students who transferred to LSU before graduating do not need to send transcripts from previous schools.
A conferred baccalaureate (or equivalent) from a regionally accredited college or university by the expected date of entry into the graduate program. The Graduate School requires a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 GPA scale or in the last 60 credit hours in the previous undergraduate or graduate coursework.

IELTS minimum score of 6.5

At the Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders at Louisiana State University, we are dedicated to excellence in education, research, and clinical work. Degree programs are offered by the department at the bachelor's, master's and the doctoral levels. Our faculty and staff serve a diverse student population at Louisiana State University.<br><br>All of MA level courses are taught by graduate faculty who hold doctoral degrees.<br><br>MA level students have access to research laboratories equipped with state-of-the-art computer-based systems for measurement and analysis of normal and impaired speech, language, hearing, voice, and swallowing processes.<br><br>The department participates in LSU's Interdisciplinary Program in Linguistics and the LSU Life Course and Aging Center, these programs provide MA students access to faculty who are conducting research in fields related to Communication Disorders.<br><br>Our on-campus clinic is supported by nine clinical instructors who hold national certification and state licensure in either speech language pathology or audiology. Over 300 clients with communication disorders are served annually in our clinic. Our client base is culturally, linguistically, and economically diverse and includes families living in both rural and urban settings.<br>We have affiliate agreements with a broad range of off-campus sites for clinical training, providing students with experience in child and adult speech, language, voice, fluency and swallowing diagnostics and treatments that occur in hospitals, schools, private practices, and various other settings.<br>We use a software program, called CALIPSO, to track each student's ASHA competencies in clinic and class while in graduate school. Students in the program can check the status of their progress at anytime during their training.
