All transcripts must be submitted in English or translated into English by a professional translation company.
Transfer students who studied outside the US must submit a NACES evaluation in order to receive transfer credit.

Applicants may be eligible for an English language proficiency testing waiver based on citizenship and/or prior education where English is the first language.

Respiratory care professionals treat patients who exhibit a range of diverse health issues including asthma, pneumonia, emphysema, cystic fibrosis, lung cancer as well as those who are having respiratory problems related to trauma, strokes, heart attacks, and premature birth.<br>Through classroom, laboratory and diverse clinical site practicum, students develop the necessary health care knowledge, bedside skills and problem-solving abilities to serve the health needs of patients from newborns to the elderly. They are prepared to manage both acute and chronic diseases that affect the cardiopulmonary system as well as trauma, sub-acute disease, and public health issues from asthma to tuberculosis.<br>The Respiratory Care Program is an entry-level degree program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) www.coarc.com and registered with New York State Department of Education (NYSED), that prepares graduates to take the national board examinations given by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). Training emphasizing comprehension, patient skills, problem-solving abilities, and advanced clinical knowledge provide the foundation for a variety of career paths in the Respiratory Care profession.
