To be eligible for admission to an associate degree program at HCC, applicants must have the equivalent of one of the following: high school equivalency certificate (GED), Associate or higher degree, standard high school diploma.
English Proficiency
- TOEFL score of 61 (iBT) or higher
- IELTS academic overall band score of 5.5 or higher
- iTEP academic score of 4.0 or higher
- STEP Eiken minimum score of Grade 2A or higher
- Pearson PTE academic minimum score of 46 or higher
- Cambridge English: C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency, minimum score of 165 or higher
- GTEC CBT score of 1051 or higher; new GTEC unified score of 1075 or higher
- Duolingo English Test score of 95 or higher
- Completion of Kaplan High-Intermediate Level

The respiratory care AS degree prepares you to treat patients who have difficulty breathing due to pulmonary or cardiac disease. Learn to work with premature infants, children, trauma victims and patients requiring life support. Respiratory therapists work in physician offices, home care setting, skilled nursing facilities, rehabilitation centers, sleep study departments and hospitals. The need for respiratory therapists continues to increase due to a growing elderly population; environmental problems; and technological advances in the treatment of lung disease, heart attack, cancer, accident victims and premature babies.Application Deadlines: Fall: Jun01; Spring: Oct15; Summer: Mar15
