The NAU graduate online application is required for all programs. Admission to many graduate programs is on a competitive basis, and programs may have higher standards than those established by the Graduate College.
Admission requirements include the following:
Transcripts.
Undergraduate degree from a regionally accredited institution with a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale (A = 4.0), or the equivalent.
Individual program admission requirements over and above admission to NAU are required.
BA, BS, MA or MS degree (or equivalent)
GRE revised General Test
Personal statement of research direction and why the NAU Interdisciplinary Health PhD is a good fit.
Resume or curriculum vitae
Admitted students are expected to have undergraduate educational experiences, including general education studies, that are similar to those required for a baccalaureate at Northern Arizona University.
Applicants who have earned their degree(s) from an international institution must submit official transcripts directly from the university or college. The transcripts must be in the original language of the country accompanied by an English translation. If the degree awarded and the date of award is not on the transcripts, applicants must also include a separate degree certificate document.
All transcripts become the official property of the university and cannot be returned. Failure to provide complete information may delay your admission decision. IELTS - 6.5, TOEFL iBT 80.

The Interdisciplinary PhD Program in Interdisciplinary Health (IH) brings together students and faculty with specialties in several disciplines within the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences (SBS) and the College of Health and Human Services (HHS) to provide students with health related curriculum and opportunities in health-related research with an interdisciplinary focus. The research and curricular topics address important questions and issues related to health equity, disability, and psychosocial health. IH students engage in interdisciplinary health-related research of the highest quality. The goal of the research is to integrate theoretical and/or applied perspectives to inform, aid, and improve knowledge, application, and assessment of health-related research.Graduates from our doctoral program will be highly knowledgeable and qualified researchers, educators and leaders for interdisciplinary research that advances understanding of health equity, disability, and psychosocial health.<br><br>This PhD program will engage you in interdisciplinary health-related research of the highest quality. The goal of your research is to integrate theoretical and applied perspectives to inform, aid, and improve knowledge, application, and assessment of health-related research. Our graduates are highly knowledgeable and qualified researchers, educators, and leaders for interdisciplinary research that advances understanding of health equity, disability, and psychosocial health.
