Preadmission testing is not permitted to meet (or satisfy) the academic prerequisites for this program.
After admission but before beginning classes student must obtain a pre-exposure immunization for rabies.
To succeed in the program, you must be capable of participating in physical activity and be able to lift 25 kg.
Although not required for admission, completion of a grade 11 or 12 physics course and prior experience working with animals are recommended for your success in the program.
When applying to a Seneca two- or three-year diploma program you must submit:
High school transcripts for grades 10, 11 and 12 showing all program specific pre-requisite courses.
High school/secondary school diploma (certificate of completion).
You may submit transcripts or certificates for any completed university/postsecondary college courses or programs taken inside or outside of Canada.
Academic records that are in a language other than English must include an official/certified English translation.
IELTS Academic - Minimum 6.0 with no skill below 5.5, TOEFL iBT - Minimum 80 with no skill below 20 , TOEFL Revised Paper Delivered - No skill below 20

Throughout this two-year diploma program you will gain the knowledge and skills to assist and support veterinary practitioners, public health officers and biomedical research scientists. You will study a variety of subjects, including nutrition, clinical pathology, microbiology, radiography, anatomy, physiology and genetics. These studies will provide you with a strong grasp on animal behaviour, nursing and care. To practice in Ontario as a Registered Veterinary Technician, you must meet and maintain the qualifications set by the Ontario Association of Veterinary Technicians.
