Our General English courses are designed for international students and other temporary visa holders looking to improve their English for personal or professional development. You can study this course by itself (stand-alone) or as part of a package with another ELICOS or TAFE SA course. The course will be tailored to your individual needs, depending on your level of English, goals and study pathway, and will focus on: - Developing listening, speaking, reading and writing skills - Improving vocabulary and grammar - Developing communication skills - Introduction to Australian culture and accent You can start your study weekly, with a short pre-course assessment and interview to ensure you are enrolled at a level that suits you.

The course duration varies from 5 to 40 weeks depending on student’s level of proficiency and desired outcome with levels from Elementary to Upper Intermediate.
General English is a pathway into EAP20.
If, upon commencement and skill assessment, your English proficiency level is at beginner level (not elementary), your offer and enrolment in the General English course may be cancelled. In this case, you will be provided with other options to continue with your English studies in Australia.
Employment Outcomes
Note: Completion of a TAFE SA course does not guarantee an employment outcome. Formal requirements other than educational qualifications (eg licensing, professional registration), may apply to some occupations.

Students have access to an extensive range of resources and digital learning materials.
