Students can sharpen their critical thinking skills through diverse learning opportunities such as blogging, fiction writing, poetry, playwriting, and literary criticism. Writers in both programs learn the value of revision and become part of a special university community driven by creativity that can lead to careers in journalism, advertising, and digital and social media. The flexibility of both programs allows students to earn a double major in English and creative writing, as well as pursue minors in other programs. Students majoring in other subject areas can also choose to minor in English or creative writing to enhance their writing skills.
