Official Transcripts and/or Secondary School Exams - Review Requirements by Country section to determine the required secondary school documentation by country.
Admitted students are required to submit final secondary school (high school) transcripts and/or proof of degree completion (A-Levels, WAEC, CBSE, High School Certificate, etc.) before enrolling at DePaul.
TOEFL - 80 on the IBT TOEFL with no subsection lower than 17 , IELTS Academic - 6.5 on the IELTS Academic, SAT - minimum evidence based reading and writing score of 550, ACT - minimum reading score of 18 and English score of 20.

The Literary Studies concentration broadens and deepens students? knowledge of literature and language through a range of courses focused on historical periods, literary movements, the structure of language, and critical approaches to literature. Students learn to read works of literature in their historical and cultural contexts, they develop their powers of textual analysis and their critical vocabulary, they examine and question the values expressed in literature, they practice research methods, and they work towards a written style that is clear, precise, and persuasive. In the English program, you will study the major authors, works, genres and literary movements in the British and American traditions, approaching these texts both analytically and historically. Develop your skills in analysis, interpretation and writing by studying British and American literatures, as well as important works in English from around the world. The English program provides a well-rounded education where you will develop critical and creative thinking skills by examining texts analytically, historically and from multiple points of view. You will also develop a unique voice, express yourself clearly in speaking and writing, and become an articulate interpreter and contributor to your culture. If you are interested in becoming a teacher, the English department partners with the College of Education to award teaching degrees.
