Students must have the following academic requirements to be eligible:
Secondary School Diploma or mature student status,
Completion of Grade 11 Math and Grade 12 English or equivalents,
Overseas applications from China, India, Vietnam and the Philippines (SDS): Overall IELTS score of 6.0 with no band less than 6.0 issued in past 24 months
All other applicants: Overall IELTS score of 6.0 with no band less than 5.5 issued in past 24 months
TOEFL- a minimum score of 78 on the internet-based test, or 213 on the computer-based test,

The purpose of the ESL program is to provide international students, who speak English as a secondary language, with the proper instructions and support that will enable them to improve their English language skills and prepare for further academic studies. The ESL Program will enable students to develop better and more efficient communication and, by completing the Advanced Level, students will be able to enter St. Lawrence post-secondary programs without English Language testing.
