课程简介
Western Michigan University offers a major in biochemistry for students interested in medicine, nutrition or pharmacology. A degree in biochemistry also prepares students who might want to pursue technical or specialized sales, marketing or customer relations. As a WMU student majoring in biochemistry, you'll study chemistry, math, molecular and cellular biology, basic concepts of evolution, genetics and heredity, and microbiology. You will also take calculus-based physics courses that deal with electricity, magnetism and heat.
Undergraduate research is important to biochemistry students who wish to establish a successful career without receiving an advanced degree as well as those who plan to apply to top-tier graduate and professional programs. WMU's Research Experience for Undergraduates can help you gain a valuable and competitive edge and take control of your professional and educational careers.

You may also gain experience beyond the classroom by joining the Chem Club, an affiliate group of the American Chemical Society. The club provides networking opportunities and information about careers and advanced degrees in chemistry-related fields. Additional activities and opportunities are available through WMU's chapter of the American Medical Student Association as well as internships with area hospitals, health care groups and companies like Stryker and Perrigo.
