国际学生入学条件
The Biochemistry Graduate Program expects applicants to have completed a bachelor's degree in biochemistry, chemistry or a similar area and have successfully completed courses in biochemistry and molecular biology (or equivalent) and have at least one year each of calculus, organic chemistry and physics. Additional specialty courses and research experience in biochemistry are highly encouraged. Students with any deficiencies in these areas should remedy them before applying to the program.
The University of Texas Graduate School recommends a minimum grade point average of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) in upper-division (junior- and senior-level) coursework and in any graduate work already completed.
ILS programs require international applicants to have a minimum score of 80 on the internet-based TOEFL exam. The IELTS equivalent test score is 6.5-7.0.
There are no official guidelines for what to include in the statement of purpose.

课程简介
Biochemistry is the study of life at the molecular level. Throughout recent history, advances made through biochemical research have led to key developments in medicine and have engendered successes in biomedical engineering. Biochemists at UT Austin use state-of-the-art chemical, physical, and computational tools and approaches to obtain a fundamental understanding of the molecular processes that underlie life, sustain and improve the natural environment, and promote the development of more effective treatments for human diseases. Technological advances are driving developments in research at a groundbreaking pace, making this a uniquely exciting time to begin a career in Biochemistry. We welcome applications from qualified candidates ready to pursue graduate study in this fascinating discipline. The ILS graduate programs provide common and specialized coursework, multiple lab rotations, a nurturing community, individualized advising, and professional skills training during the first academic year to establish a solid foundation for carrying out cutting-edge research. Each program provides advanced training in specific disciplines aimed at preparing the next generation of scientific leaders. We welcome applicants from diverse educational backgrounds and professional pathways.
