Students are encouraged to take high school courses related to their intended major, some courses not required for admission may be prerequisites for first-year courses.
High school direct entry to Biochemistry, Cellular, Molecular and Microbial Biology, Ecology, Plant Biology, and Zoology are all in the Honours stream. To enter the regular stream, seek a change of program from a different Faculty of Science program.
By presenting your IB Diploma with 3 higher level courses and with all grades above 3, you'll be considered for admissions based on your overall diploma score. Those who do not complete the diploma will be considered based on the 5 courses required for admission.
Only one of Art, Dance, Drama or Music can be used in calculating the admission average

Cellular, Molecular and Microbial Biology (CMBI) is the study of how single-celled organisms and cells function at a molecular level. During the course of your studies, much of your learning will occur while actively working on problems in class, during tutorials and in the laboratory. As a student in CMBI, youll get a broad perspective on diverse topics including the function of molecules in cells, the relationships between cell structure and cell function, the importance of microbes to the environment, industry and disease and the interactions of microbes with each other and with plant and animal cells.<br><br>Career opportunities<br>Cellular, Molecular and Microbial Biologists have global opportunities to work in areas such as biotechnology, medical research, toxicology, and more.
