The Master of Science in Biostatistics and Data Science (MSBDS) is offered by the Division of Biostatistics in the School of Medicine at Washington University in St. Louis. The School of Medicine is consistently ranked in the top ten for medical research as determined by US News and World Report and is well funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Known for being at the forefront of medical research and primary care, the School of Medicine engages students in research and practical training so they can contribute to improving health outcomes. Our program trains students as critical thinkers and collaborators in Biostatistics and Data Science. We seek those with undergraduate degrees in quantitative sciences (mathematics, statistics, computer science, informatics, biomedical engineering or a closely related field). Our 18 month, 42 credit hour program is designed to teach students how to review, analyze and interpret health data using statistical and data science approaches. Internationally renowned faculty from multiple disciplines, including Biostatistics, Genetics, Informatics, Medicine, and Public Health, will teach and mentor students providing opportunities for multidisciplinary approaches to their education. Our program offers a unique training experience that combines core data science learning in statistical and computational methodologies with practical training in real-world data analysis of cutting-edge biomedical and genomics research for a new generation of quantitative scientists.
