Biological science is the study of life in all its forms, from the single-celled to entire ecosystems. Our biological sciences program offers a broad foundation in the basic principals of biology you need to build your career. We offer opportunities for specialization in biology education, biomedical science, and ecology that make your college experience your own and your degree exactly what you want it to be. And, youll work with faculty mentors in microbiology, physiology, plant biology and zoology to put your biggest dreams in reach.<br>The Biology Education specialization prepares students for careers as secondary-school biology teachers. It is offered in conjunction with the College of Education and Human Services. The major includes all requirements specified by the Illinois State Board of Education and the National Science Teachers Association and leads to certification for teachers of Science with a designation in Biology.
