国际学生入学条件

Secondary educational systems vary across the globe. The United States has a 12-year secondary educational system. Many countries have 10, 11, or 13-year secondary educational systems. If you have attended school in a country where the secondary system differs from the United States, you may be eligible for admission. Each undergraduate admissions application is evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
The International Admissions Office completes in-house evaluations of all international credentials and coursework. If a student has attended an educational institution within the U.S., official documents must be sent directly from the institution to WKU. Students may provide a color scan of credentials earned outside the U.S. While an admission decision can be made based upon scanned documents, students are required to present official documents to the International Admissions Office upon arrival to campus. Consulates & embassies often serve as a resource for the attestation of educational documents.
Official Academic Records from schools attended with grades and any degrees/diplomas/certificates received. Should also include a literal English translation.
Financial Evidence of Support must be provided to obtain an I-20
Students transferring from within the US will need to fill out the Transfer-In Form

课程简介

The opportunities in the Biology Department truly embody the core mission of WKU as a student-centered, applied research university, which is to inspire innovation, elevate communities and transform lives in the words of WKU President Timothy Caboni. Our departmental goals are firmly rooted in teaching excellence with the integration of experiential learning through laboratory and field based research in our curricula. Furthermore, our teaching and research extend from our campus laboratories, to our local field sites including the 1300 acre Upper Green River Biological Preserve, all the way to the Caribbean, China, and Africa. From studies on microbes to megafauna, and genes to ecosystems, undergraduate and graduate students play an active role in the advancement of knowledge taking place in the Department of Biology at WKU. Because of recent advances in technology related to the biological sciences, students interested in biology are presented with an ever-increasing array of educational opportunities. These opportunities, involving the diverse biological subdisciplines from molecules to ecosystems, provide the student of biology one of the most exciting and challenging eras in human history. The Department of Biology is dedicated to producing well-informed, scientifically literate graduates capable of applying the knowledge and skills acquired to ensure professional success and lifelong learning.

The faculty take pride in the success of undergraduate student engagement in research. By applying what students have learned in the classroom to research projects, students can more smoothly make the transition to professional and graduate programs and the work force. Our novel Biotechnology Certification program is designed to provide students with technical skills for research. New state-of-the-art research laboratories and the recently acquired Potter-Nicely Outdoor Education Center and Upper Green River Biological Preserve provide outstanding settings for student research. The Biology Department is also proud to house the Biotechnology Center and Center for Biodiversity Studies. Both centers are integral components of the Applied Research and Technology Program, a state-funded program of distinction., When planning a program of study in the Department of Biology each student must be aware of the University's academic requirements and regulations contained in this catalog in the section, Academic Information. Specific attention should be given to the subsections entitled (a) Academic Programs, (b) Colonnade Plan , and (c) Academic Requirements and Regulations. Students should be aware that some academic programs may require additional scholastic regulations and standards not specified in the catalog. To obtain a copy of these regulations, students should contact the Biology Office.
The major in biology (525) does not require a second major or minor. Students complete a range of biology courses and are able to participate in research projects to ease the transition into the workplace.
