Students whose first language is not English may be required to demonstrate English proficiency by one of the following means:
Proving youre from a country where English is the only official language
Establishing that a prior bachelor's, master's or doctoral degree was earned from another accredited institution of higher education (meeting university transfer eligibility requirements) in the United States
Establishing that a prior bachelor's, master's or doctoral degree was earned from a country where English is the only official language or from a university at which English is the only official language of instruction
Submitting a qualifying score (220 or higher for computer-based, 80 or higher for internet-based or 550 or higher for paper-based) on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or a score of 6.5 or higher on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
A minimum 520 EBRW rSAT score, 480 Critical Reading SAT score, 20 ACT (English section), or 42 CLT (Verbal Reasoning plus Grammar/Writing)
Presenting a minimum grade of B in both English Composition I and English Composition II, or the equivalent, taken at another accredited institution of higher education (meeting university transfer eligibility requirements) in the United States
Completion of four years of English in an American high school in the United States

Major in biology and get a background in chemical, mathematical, and physical sciences, as well as broad preparation in the biological sciences. The Bachelor of Science in Biology degree program at UCF allows you to choose coursework in general biology or select a track in one of five areas. Through electives selected with the help of your faculty advisor, youll have the opportunity to work in subspecialties, including molecular biology, conservation biology and marine biology. Additionally this program can prepare you for a future in human or veterinary medicine and other professional degrees.<br><br>Program coursework helps you develop critical thinking skills and exposes you to a wide variety of scientific knowledge from various biology subdisciplines. Youll learn skills related to the conduct of science, including hypothesis testing, experimental design, accessing and understanding scientific literature, analyzing data, as well as laboratory and field skills specific to certain scientific areas. Plus, through independent study contracts, gain first-hand experience and exposure to specialized topics beyond the classroom.
