国际学生入学条件
Applicants should have an Honours baccalaureate degree in the Biological Sciences or a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (or the equivalent) with a minimum 'B+' standing in the final two years of study. Letters of reference from two individuals who can adequately evaluate the academic and research capabilities of the applicant must be provided with the application. In addition, a short statement of the applicant's area of interest and career goals is required to assist in the selection of faculty advisors. Students may be admitted into the Fall, Winter, or Summer semester. Provisional acceptance may be granted to students who do not meet this 'B+' standard if there is additional evidence that the applicant is capable of successfully completing the graduate program (e.g., outstanding letters of recommendation, or evidence of prior relevant work or research experience). Transfer to regular status will normally be recommended when the student obtains a minimum grade of A- in their first two graduate course and displays current research ability to their advisory committee. These courses will be credited to the degree program.

The MBS is a one-year coursework-based graduate program that includes a major research project. This research project is completed under the supervision of a Faculty Advisor. The MBS program was designed to provide students with graduate training over a shorter duration than the MSc program, and without the requirement of a full, written thesis. Students entering the MBS program are often unsure of their desire to complete a thesis-based graduate degree or are upgrading their academic standing to increase their competitiveness for professional programs. For MBS students who gain or affirm an interest in academic research, there may be an opportunity to transfer directly into the MSc program at any point before their third semester, and earn a thesis-based MSc graduate degree.

Research in this area includes on the cellular and molecular mechanisms involved in steroidogenesis, and the normal and abonormal development of embryos, various aspects of reproductive biology (including the endocrinology) of domestic, laboratory and exotic species, the development of reproductive biotechnologies, such as cloning, in vitro fertilization, micromanipulation of embryos, cryopreservation of gametes and embryos and sex determination in animals.
