课程简介
Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine (MU JCESOM) and the Office of Research and Graduate Education offers the ideal option for students who want to strengthen their academic record and enhance their science foundation prior to medical or other health-related professional schools. MU JCESOM Medical Sciences area of emphasis is a rigorous, two-year, non-thesis degree in Biomedical Research that couples a challenging curriculum in the basic medical sciences with an exposure to research. This program, commonly referred to as the Medical Sciences Program, is specifically designed to build a strong application for medical school to increase your chance of acceptance. Students who prefer a medical scientist career can opt to perform more hands-on biomedical research instead of some of the didactic courses in the regular curriculum of the Medical Sciences program. Such research experience can significantly enhance the academic profile of applicants for entry into medical school, and subsequently for highly competitive residency training programs. These students may, on a case-by-case basis, join specific approved laboratories within the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine. The students may undertake research for academic credit (up to 12 credit hours) towards those required for graduation or may be paid an hourly stipend.
