The goal of all occupational and environmental health professionals is to make sure that people are protected from possible health effects from environmental hazards such as lead or air pollution. Purdue's Occupational and Environmental Health Science (OEHS) graduate program, which specializes in industrial hygiene, offers master of science (MS) and PhD degrees. Our mission is to prepare our graduates to be professionals, leaders and researchers in industrial hygiene and related fields. We will prepare you to be an outstanding scientist with the knowledge to protect workers, families and communities from hazardous environmental agents. Our MS program is accredited in industrial hygiene through the Applied Science Accreditation Commission of ABET. As a whole, our program is unique in that it's the only program in the nation that is ABET accreditation in industrial hygiene at both undergraduate-degree and graduate-degree levels. Our MS and PhD programs prepare students to be highly competent, effective and ethical industrial hygiene professionals who apply scientific principles to protect workers from adverse effects of hazardous environmental agents and workplace stressors.
