Entry may be gained through any of three means:
1. Recognised Engineering Bachelor's degree (AQF Level 7) in the specific disciplinary area of the major.
2. Evidence of an appropriate level of industrial experience and possession of a Bachelor's degree (AQF Level 7) in a technical, non-engineering area as
judged adequate by the Academic Chair or their designate.
3. Applicants without the necessary qualifications and/or background may be admitted with the caveat that they will be required to pass additional
units as part of the course requirements, as judged by the Academic Chair (or equivalent) or their designate. This entry option may increase the
required duration to complete the degree.
To gain entry by either means 2 or 3, the applicant should provide educational and industrial experience details by a Curriculum Vitae, tertiary
education transcripts, and a personal statement of no more than 300 words detailing why this course has been selected and how any extra-curricular
experience has prepared the applicant to complete the course.
Academic International English Language Testing System (IELTS) - IELTS overall 6.0 with no band below 6.0
Test of English as a Foreign Language - IBT (TOEFL IBT) - 73 with no band less than 18
Test of English as a Foreign Language - Paper Based (TOEFL - Paper Based) - 534 (Test of Written English not less than 4.5)

This course will prepare you for a professional career in the water industry. You will develop your understanding, design, operation and monitoring of conventional potable water and sewage treatment process, as well as many of the more specific water treatment processes allied with industry, agriculture, mining and public service needs. As part of the course, you'll complete the design and implementation of a substantial project relevant to industry to apply your knowledge and understanding and develop critical problem solving skills. You'll also conduct practical laboratory experiments to develop your understanding of the scientific and engineering principles and evaluation techniques in water treatment, wastewater treatment, water chemistry and water recycling. Successful completion of this course provides a clear pathway into the Master of Water Treatment and Desalination. Additionally, this Diploma provides the grounding for entry into higher degree research programs in water engineering.
