The Bachelor of Advanced Science (Honours) is a specialised program that provides high-achieving future leaders the opportunity to pursue their scientific passion and gain extensive research experience under the guidance of prominent research scientists and thought leaders. Throughout your program you'll work alongside researchers and collaborate with your peers on cutting-edge research projects to challenge your problem-solving capabilities and develop your research, analytical and communications skills. You'll develop your scientific expertise and technical skills through a core specialisation. Choose from 23 specialist fields from across science and mathematics. The Bachelor of Advanced Science (Honours) will challenge you and develop your deep interest in science to create the foundation for a high-achieving career in scientific research and industry. In first year you'll learn interdisciplinary approaches to problem-solving and build networks with other high-achieving students and research scientists. In years two and three of the program, you'll develop specialised knowledge in your chosen area of study. You'll also have the option to complement your specialisation with a major or minor across a broad range of scientific fields, with a choice of 24 majors and 32 minors. Alternatively, diversify your skill set by studying a minor in languages, communications, design, economics or humanities. Your final year will be dedicated to an extensive full-year independent research project. You'll find expanding career possibilities in diverse roles within the government, health, corporate, environmental and financial sectors and in research organisations globally. Advanced Science is also an excellent pathway into medicine or a research higher degree such as a PhD.

Geographical Science investigates the spatial patterns of physical and human phenomena at local, national and global scales. It examines the patterns and processes of natural and built environments and human activity, how they change over time and how they interact. Physical Geography is concerned with the patterns and processes in climate, landforms, soils, plants, animals as well as the impact of human activities on these systems. Human Geography examines how people interact with the environment and about applying physical geography elements to human ends. Human geography involves applied studies in urban and rural settlement, location and land-use, human spatial behaviour and demography. Geographical Information Science is the study of geographic information systems and remote-sensing for modelling, managing, analysing and applying geo-referenced information in a variety of contexts. In your final year, you'll undertake an independent research project under the guidance of an academic supervisor - essentially giving you a research apprenticeship. You may choose to tailor your specialisation with a major or minors from a broad range of scientific and non-scientific disciplines to suit your interests and career goals.
