The following course-specific admission requirements are mandatory and must be satisfied by all applicants. These requirements are in addition to or supersede the minimum requirements outlined within the Academic admission requirements band section below.

All applicants must meet the academic admission requirements for this course. The indicative or guaranteed ATAR is as published (where applicable) or academic admission requirements may be satisfied through completion of one of the following:
AQF Cert IV,
Successfully completed 0.25 EFTSL of study at bachelor level or higher at an Australian higher education provider (or equivalent),
Undergraduate Certificate,
Special Tertiary Admissions Test,
University Preparation Course,
Indigenous University Orientation Course,
Aboriginal University Readiness Assessment, or
Experience Based Entry Scheme.
All applicants are required to have passed ATAR Mathematics Methods, ATAR Mathematics Specialist or MAT1137 Introductory Applied Mathematics, with equivalents considered.
International Baccalaureate Diploma - Minimum of 24 points (Minimum of 28 points for Law), consisting of aggregate from 3 higher level & 3 subsidiary level
IELTS Academic Overall band minimum score of 6.0 (no individual band less than 6.0)
TOEFL iBT or TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition - Minimum score of 70, with no individual score less than 17. (Results are valid for two years only).
TOEFL paper-based test (PBT) - Minimum score of 550, including Test of Written English of 5 or better. (Results are valid for two years only)

This major allows students to develop transdisciplinary knowledge in environmental sustainability, and undertake a relevant project in natural sciences to enrich understandings of ecologically sustainable processes on land and in water.Students will be able to apply these understandings to nature conservation, impact assessment and natural resource management. Studies will include an emphasis on field-based exercises and workplace learning.<br><br>Learning Outcomes<br>Apply broad discipline knowledge to range of practical situations linked to interdependencies between natural environments and sustainability; sustainability challenges and their drivers; and holistic systems thinking and complexity.<br>Analyse experimental data from the perspective of environmental sustainability.<br>Formulate hypotheses, design and undertake experiments to generate solutions to sustainability problems.<br>Synthesise relevant information from multiple sources using digital technologies.<br>Communicate sustainability issues with diverse groups in professional and public contexts.<br>Incorporate diverse perspectives into scientific practice, applying a global outlook and including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural perspectives.<br>Work collaboratively with others, encompassing social, sustainable and ethical values into scientific practice.<br>Apply own learning to professional practice.
