To be considered for this course you need to:
achieve the University's minimum entry score (ATAR of 80 or equivalent)
demonstrate English language competence
satisfy any prerequisites for your preferred majors (refer to individual major descriptions for prerequisite details)
To be eligible for UWA's undergraduate degrees based on previous higher education studies, applicants must have completed one full-time semester or the equivalent of studies at an Australian university and at the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Level 7 or higher, and have achieved a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 4.0 (7) or above. Applicants must also provide evidence of satisfying UWA's ELC requirements. Applicants who have completed one full-time year or the equivalent of studies at the AQF Level 7 or higher, within the previous two years of application, and achieved a GPA of 4.0 (7) or above are not required to provide separate evidence of ELC to be eligible.
International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB)-English A1 at HL or SL - Minimum score 4
English A2 at HL or SL - Minimum score 4
English B at HL - Minimum score 5
IELTS (Academic) including IELTS for UKVI (Academic)- Minimum overall score of 6.5 with no band less than 6.0 (must include Academic Reading and Writing modules)
TOEFL - Essay Rating / Test of Written English (TWE) of 4.5 and either 230 (Computer-based) or 570 (Paper-based) score. Internet-based Test (iBT): An overall score of 82 with a minimum score of: 22 in the Writing section, 18 in the Reading section, 20 in the Speaking section, and 20 in the Listening section for all courses

Science communicators work to facilitate public engagement with research, inspire the next generation of scientists and advocate for science. It teaches you to communicate effectively with audiences ranging from children to scientists. The course is hands-on and practical, enabling you to build the portfolio and networks you need to pursue a rewarding career in science communication. Science Communication provides you with experience in new media, written, oral and visual presentations, science performance and working with industry experts. This major teaches you to communicate effectively with audiences ranging from children to scientists. Classes are a mixture of lectures and tutorials, complementing learned theory with discussions, demonstrations and group work. You'll develop a Science Communication portfolio including writing, videos, podcasts, professional reports, presentations, exhibits, posters and websites. In a practicum you're placed with an organisation to enhance your networking and employment opportunities. UWA is one of only two universities that offer undergraduate Science Communication programs in Australia. This major must be taken with another science major, providing you with scientific knowledge and highly marketable communication skills.
