A level
BCC preferably including STEM subject/science A-level
STEM subjects include Geology, Geography, Economics, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Environmental Technology/Science, Physical Education, Single Award Science, ICT, Nutrition and Food Science, Software Systems Development, Single Award Life & Health Sciences. Applied Science Double Award also acceptable.
Provided the above subject requirements are met you can substitute a combination of alternative qualifications recognised by the University for one of the A level grades.

Irish Leaving Certificate
104 UCAS Tariff points to include a minimum of five subjects (four of which must be at higher level) to include English and Maths at a minimum of H6 if studied at Higher Level or minimum of O4 if studied at Ordinary Level.
International Baccalaureate
Overall International Baccalaureate profile minimum 24 points to include 12 at higher level to include Grade 4 or above in Higher or Subsidiary level English Language and Mathematics.
Access to Higher Education (HE)
Pass Access course with overall mark of 60 including 60 in all level 3 modules. To include a 20 credit Level 2 Mathematics module, passed at 40% or successful completion of NICATS Mathematics.
Access to HE Diploma (GB) to include 12 Distinctions, 30 Merits and 3 Passes.
GCSE
You must satisfy the General Entrance requirements for admission to a first degree course and hold GCSE passes in English Language and Mathematics at Grade C (Grade 4) or above.
IELTS 6.0 with no band score less than 5.5., TOEFL iBT - 80 with a minimum L - 17 R - 18 S - 20 W - 17, PTE Academic - 55 (with min. of 51 in each part)

Our degree in marine science is the integrated study of the biological, physical and chemical aspects of our coasts and oceans. It covers marine biology and ecology, sea level change, marine geology, underwater archaeology, oceanography and ocean engineering, and the oceans as an economic resource and as a global climate regulator. Oceans provide many opportunities for sustainable communities through renewable energy schemes, carbon sequestration and sustainable fishing. The Blue Economy (activities related to the ocean) is growing each year, and in 2018 was worth 566 billion while generating an estimated 3.5 million jobs across Europe.
