The following course-specific admission requirements are mandatory and must be satisfied by all applicants. These requirements are in addition to or supersede the minimum requirements outlined within the Academic admission requirements band section below.

All applicants must meet the academic admission requirements for this course. The indicative or guaranteed ATAR is as published (where applicable) or academic admission requirements may be satisfied through completion of one of the following:
AQF Cert IV,
Successfully completed 0.25 EFTSL of study at bachelor level or higher at an Australian higher education provider (or equivalent),
Undergraduate Certificate,
Special Tertiary Admissions Test,
University Preparation Course,
Indigenous University Orientation Course,
Aboriginal University Readiness Assessment, or
Experience Based Entry Scheme.
International Baccalaureate Diploma - Minimum of 24 points (Minimum of 28 points for Law), consisting of aggregate from 3 higher level & 3 subsidiary level
IELTS Academic Overall band minimum score of 6.0 (no individual band less than 6.0)
TOEFL iBT or TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition - Minimum score of 70, with no individual score less than 17. (Results are valid for two years only).
TOEFL paper-based test (PBT) - Minimum score of 550, including Test of Written English of 5 or better. (Results are valid for two years only)

Designed for students with an interest in aquatic environments. Students study biological and physical processes that occur in both marine and freshwater systems, and develop skills to enable them to contribute to management and understanding of water-based ecosystems. There is an emphasis on the continuity of these environments across the transition from fresh water to estuarine and marine systems. Students will be able to apply their degree in marine and terrestrial park management, environmental impact assessment, and conservation of marine and freshwater fauna and flora.<br><br>Learning Outcomes<br>Apply broad discipline knowledge to a range of theoretical and practical marine andor freshwater science situations.<br>Analyse experimental and field data using approaches in marine and freshwater science.<br>Formulate hypotheses, design and undertake experiments to generate solutions to marine and freshwater science problems.<br>Synthesise relevant information from multiple sources using digital literacies.<br>Communicate marine and freshwater science knowledge and values in professional and public contexts.<br>Incorporate diverse perspectives into scientific practice, applying a global outlook and including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural perspectives.<br>Work collaboratively with others, encompassing social, sustainable and ethical values into scientific practice.<br>Apply own learning to professional practice.
