Typical A-Level Offer - EE to include Mathematics
Typical IB Offer - Pass the International Baccalaureate Diploma with a minimum of 80 UCAS tariff points from Higher Levels
GCSEs - The University normally requires a minimum 3 GCSEs including Mathematics and English at Grade C/Grade 4 or above, or their equivalent but consideration is given to individual circumstances
IELTS with an overall score of 6.0 with at least 5.5 in each component. Please note that for those students who do not require a UKVI SELT, USW will also be able to accept the IELTS at-home test when it becomes available
TOEFL iBT with a score of 72 overall and a minimum of 18 in reading, 17 in listening, 20 in speaking and 17 in writing (including Home Edition)

The Foundation route is designed for applicants who do not meet the admissions criteria for our BSc (Hons) Mathematics degree. This additional year focuses on key material from A-Level Mathematics, its applications and a number of more advanced topics. The Foundation Maths course will involve a large number of contact hours with Mathematics staff to ensure you are properly supported. Successfully passing the Foundation year guarantees you entry onto the first year of our BSc Mathematics course where you will build upon and apply the knowledge gained during the Foundation year. Our BSc and MMath Maths degrees are accredited by the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications.<br><br>Our Mathematics degree focuses on giving you the best chance of securing your dream job. Graduates have an excellent track record of gaining employment – We are also top 15 in the UK and top in Wales for Mathematics according to The Times Good University Guide 2021. Mathematicians and statisticians are in high demand. Most areas of modern life rely on mathematics, so the need for mathematicians, statisticians and mathematics teachers continues to grow. Many employers value the skills you'll gain on a Mathematics degree, such as refined problem solving and logical thinking. Our graduates find employment in many branches of industry, commerce and public sector organisations. They are especially successful in areas that use mathematical modelling, coding and cryptography, software development, statistics, operational research, and teaching. Many also progress to further study or research at postgraduate level.
