国际学生入学条件
High School Transcripts.
Typically, the most important factor in the admission evaluation process is demonstrated academic achievement in a challenging secondary school program.
The admission committee looks for applicants who have completed the most rigorous academic courses available in their secondary schools and recommends that prospective students should exceed minimum high school graduation requirements. We require an official transcript. The secondary program should include no fewer than 16 academic courses and must include the following courses:
English 4 units
Mathematics 4 units
Foreign Language 2 units
Science (from among biology, chemistry, and physics) 2 units (*)
Social Studies 1 unit
A TOEFL or IELTS score should not be more than two years old. Depending on the school, most admitted graduate students attain a minimum total score of 90 on the internet-based (iBT) TOEFL (including sectional minimums of 22 in speaking, 22 in writing, 23 in reading and 23 in listening). The minimum paper-based TOEFL score requirement is usually 600, and the minimum IELTS score requirement is 7.0.

课程简介
Environmental Thought and Practice majors engage with the biggest challenges of our time. We need science to understand environmental problems, but to solve them we need more than science. ETP embraces modes of inquiry from the natural and social sciences, the arts and humanities. All disciplines have something to teach us about the way we inhabit this planet. ETP majors take that understanding into the world.
This is the century of the environment. A growing population and a warming planet create what many see as the greatest challenge ever faced by humanity. The goal of the Environmental Thought and Practice (ETP) major is to prepare students to embrace that challenge, both in their studies and in the rest of their lives. We teach undergraduates to think about environmental issues within an interdisciplinary framework that includes natural sciences, social sciences and humanities. Environmental problems concern physical, chemical and biological phenomenahuman caused or naturalthat can be described by environmental scientists. Problems are defined by our response to these phenomena, and those responses are contingent on cultural constructs and historical events even moreso than scientific measurements. Attempts to solve these problems fall within the political sphere, but policy debates draw on principles and discourses from philosophy, economics, psychology and ethics. In short, understanding and solving environmental problems demands the ability to connect ideas from diverse disciplines that span the natural and social sciences as well as the humanities.
The Environmental Thought and Practice program seeks to produce students who:
comprehend and think critically about scientific information, economic analysis, and the various ethical constructs that enter into environmental decisions, and,
appreciate how political and social context, historical events, and cultural expectations shape the way we perceive and solve environmental problems.
connect classroom theory with real-world practice.
