Applicants to the MS program in environmental health sciences are generally expected to have a bachelor's degree in a scientific field such as biology, chemistry, physics, engineering, or a related discipline. Exceptions to this may be made on an individual basis depending on the selected course of study.

The MS in environmental health sciences offered by the Division of Environmental Medicine at NYU Langone is a specialized program that provides students with the skills and expertise they need to work in jobs related to environmental health. Students have the option of enrolling full- or part-time.<br><br>The expansion of regulations in occupational safety and health and environmental protection provides increased career opportunities for people trained in various aspects of environmental health sciences. Our MS program provides graduate training relevant to jobs involving worker health and safety, health hazard communication, health risk assessment and policy, and environmental analysis of toxicants, including the related areas of administration and technical sales.<br><br>Our MS program prepares students to work in academia, industry, consulting firms, trade associations, and local, state, and federal governmental agencies. The program can also equip secondary school teachers to introduce environmental science into their school's curriculum or into existing science courses.<br><br>We train students to use modern scientific methodologies to solve real-world environmental problems. We teach the fundamentals of environmental pollution, toxicology, and biostatistics, as well as practical skills such as how to present scientific data and how to properly interpret scientific reports.
