If you choose to earn an Environmental Science and Ecology degree from UTSA, your area of study will be conservation and restoration ecology, environmental management, natural resources and wildlife management or aquatic sciences. You will gain hands-on experience analyzing problems in the environment while you engage in field studies, excursions and laboratory work. Once you graduate and become an environmental scientist, youll work to clean up polluted areas, advise policymakers, work to help save endangered species of plants and animals, and help various industries work to reduce wasteall to help make the Earth a better place.<br>Internships allow you to obtain work experience, explore a chosen career path and increase your marketability to employers. Students can access Handshake, UTSA's jobs portal, to search for jobs and internships and recruiting and event information. UTSA's Career Center has a COS career counselor who provides internship opportunities and advice to students across every science major.<br>The mission of the Department of Integrative Biology is to educate, inspire, and assist students and diverse regional populations through a comprehensive curriculum, emergent pedagogy, and collaborative research.
