You are considered a freshman if you have not taken any post-secondary/college coursework. Your application should include your high school or secondary school records, including results from culminating or leaving examinations. Scores from the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) of the College Entrance Examination Board (CEEB) or the American College Test (ACT) will be required, along with an essay and a letter of recommendation. The university requires a minimum TOEFL score of 550 on the paper version of the test, 213 on the computer-based version or a 79-80 on the internet-based version. IELTS minimum score: 6.5.

The Environmental Science option is for students focused on human impacts on the environment and major environmental challenges including climate change, pollution, and sustainability. The concentration prepares students for employment in the private and government sectors where knowledge is required in management and protection of the environment, pollution control and remediation of contaminated sites, environmental law and regulations, natural resources and environmental economics. Our graduates have become environmental consultants, environmental analysts and officers, waste water treatment plant operators, hydrological consultants, noise and air pollution specialists, teachers and managers in private industry and government.
