To be admitted to an undergraduate degree program as a regular freshman student, you must be a graduate from an approved or accredited high school (GED certificate may not be used for admission) and satisfy the below requirements:
You must have a 3.0 weighted GPA in the academic core courses in order to be admitted to the University of Nevada, Reno. The academic courses include: English, math, social sciences and natural sciences. A weighted GPA takes into account the extra difficulty of honors, AP or IB classes.
You must submit your final, official high school transcripts to support your application for admission.
SAT/ACT scores: We do not require SAT or ACT scores for admission or scholarship consideration
IELTS (must be academic version) with a score of 6.0 plus
TOEFL score 61 plus

Geography is the examination of the complex relationships between humans and their environments and the spatial dimensions of our world's most pressing challenges. Within the undergraduate program, students have the option to pursue one of four specializations or a general bachelor of science or bachelor of arts in geography tailored to their interests.<br><br>The Environmental Policy and Management specialization emphasizes proficiency in analytical and evaluative skills in relation to environmental management. Decision-making regarding future use of renewable and non-renewable resources requires an interdisciplinary approach that engages with the physical, economic, and political processes that govern human interactions with the natural world. This specialization will strengthen the job prospects of by emphasizing analytical and evaluative skills that are necessary for employment in a variety of environmental management forums.<br><br>Learning outcomes<br>Graduates of the bachelor's degree in geography are trained to:<br> Analyze the complex and shifting relationships between people and places, Hone graphical, observational and analytical skills <br> Apply geography knowledge skills to solve complex problems, Collect, analyze and present data using geographic information systems (GIS) or other tools or techniques, Develop a holistic view of environmental and social processes<br> Pursue interests in urban and/or environmental change
