Secondary school graduation (or equivalent)
Minimum grade of 65% in English Studies12, English First Peoples 12, ENG 090 or equivalent.

Students must have the prerequisites for the individual courses in the program. Students can enroll in the program and take the upgrading courses they require concurrently.

English Language Proficiency Requirements:

TOEFL iBT – TOEFL Internet-based test: Overall 80 with minimum 13 in Reading, 21 in Writing, 12 in Listening, 18 in Speaking

IELTS Academic – International English language testing system: Direct entry academic program requirements: Overall 6.0 with no band less than 6.0; Conditional admit requirements: Overall 6.0 with no band less than 5.5; English Language Program pathway: Less than 6.0 overall

CAEL-CE – Canadian Academic English Language (CAEL) Test: Computer Edition (CE) score of 60 overall (no sub-score less than 60)

Pearson Test of English (PTE Academic): PTE Academic – Academic overall 56

Employers are looking for environmentally responsible citizens who have a wide range of essential skills. The Environmental Studies certificate is designed to introduce you to those skills. The Environmental Studies certificate is designed to allow you a degree of autonomy in your course selection. You will take a specific number of courses that deal with the environment along with options from a variety of subjects including geography, geology, anthropology and sociology. This program is delivered in the classroom although a number of courses are also available online. Completion of the certificate may help you find employment in entry-level jobs or to move into further education to become more specialized. We have transfer agreements with a number of Canadian universities. We recommend working with an Education Advisor when choosing courses for future transfer.
