Prospective first-year students must:
Have a 3.00 recalculated grade point average (GPA) (a B or better where A= 4.00) from a secondary school.
Please note: GPA recalculation occurs during the admissions evaluation process.
Have three years of high school work.
Please note: If you are currently in high school, the University of Arizona needs to see 9–11 grade work. If you have completed high school then Arizona needs to see 10–12 grade work.
Have and present a completed high school diploma or certificate.
Official college/university transcripts from each international institution you have attended will be required at the time of enrollment.
If you have attended any college or university outside of the United States during or post-high school, unofficial transcripts from each institution you have attended are sufficient for initial evaluation.
Unofficial transcripts are sufficient for initial evaluation. At any time, you may be contacted to submit official/verified transcripts.
Official transcripts showing grades for all years of secondary/high school and official exam results or certificates from your country will be required before you enroll at the University of Arizona.

Students learn content similar to what they will encounter in their first year as undergraduate students and thereby improve their language abilities. They also enroll in a CESL-supported general education course for credit, this course will count toward any major at University of Arizona.
With CESL's English Language Endorsement, students in the U-Track Pathway can fulfill UA's minimum English language proficiency requirement without taking an additional TOEFL or IELTS exam.

Turn your curiosity about marine life into science-based expertise that helps protect and preserve the diverse species that live in our planet's waters. The Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources with an emphasis in Fisheries Conservation and Management focuses on the ecology of aquatic systems, including the study of their biology, their relationships with each other and humans, and the physical and biological environments that are their habitat. Fishery biologists develop strategies to maintain biodiversity and habitat, help rare and endangered species to recover, manage populations of harvested animals, enforce laws, monitor plant and animal populations, manage refuges and hatcheries, design and implement research projects, eliminate invasive species, develop computer models and educate the public. Coursework builds on a solid foundation of biological and physical sciences and offers engaging opportunities for fieldwork. Graduates are employed as fishery biologists by federal and state resource-management agencies and by other conservation organizations.<br><br>LEARNING OUTCOMES<br>Demonstrate basic knowledge ecological principles, Acquire basic knowledge of ecological principles (e.g., energy flow, material cycling, competition, predation, mutualism), identify current ecological challenges facing natural resource managers, and use ecological principles to develop potential integrated solutions to problems in natural resource management. (RNR 316/202)<br>Natural resource management, Describe how social, political, and economic forces affect management of natural resources, and explain why there generally are trade-offs between various objectives in natural resources management.<br>Land management agency roles, Identify the major land management agencies responsible for stewardship of natural resources, the key historical conditions that lead to the creation of these agencies, and the primary mandates of each of these agencies.
