课程简介
All students who earn a degree in NRM will learn: the science of applying ecological principles to problems in natural resources management the art of making decisions that benefit multiple stakeholders and use our natural resources sustainably The new Bachelor of Science in Conservation Law Enforcement was developed cooperatively with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department to provide a track which trains students to become game wardens. It incorporates an associate's degree in criminal justice from any eligible 2 year institution (e.g., South Plains College) with two years of coursework in Natural Resources Management at Texas Tech University. An internship with a law enforcement agency is required for this degree. The Department of Natural Resources Management is primarily concerned with the application of basic ecological principles to the management and use of natural resources. The curriculum for natural resources management students is focused upon relevant and tangible skills and experiential learning opportunities to prepare students for professional careers working for public and private natural resources management agencies, as well as graduate school. The degree plans are geared toward meeting certification requirements for positions as range conservationists or wildlife biologists for agencies such as Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Natural Resource Conservation Service, Forest Service, and Bureau of Land Management.
