政治学是对人们如何被统治以及人们如何自我统治的研究，这一过程除其他事项外，还包括决定将稀缺资源分配给需求不断增长的不断增长的人口。作为一门学科，在西方，政治学起源于希腊人。在他们的领导下，作为我们专业和政治学学科的一部分，我们研究了从柏拉图和亚里斯多德到现在的政治哲学家的观点，即哪种类型的政府最有利于人类实现，为什么？鉴于我们是美国高等学校的政治科学系，因此，我们将美国政治经验作为“自治”的独特实验进行研究，但我们不仅要研究如何治理美国，还要研究其他政治制度，以实现这些政治制度之间的差异和共同点。
The Law and Society Program involves the study of law and legal systems as they relate to the larger societies of which they are a part. While the program is of special interest to students who plan careers in government service or law, many of the majors simply share a desire to understand the role of law in society. <br>The Law and Society major seeks to understand the nature of law and legal institutions from a variety of perspectives. The program is interdisciplinary, with courses offered in the following fields: Justice Studies, Anthropology, Economics, History, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology and Sociology. The program is designed to benefit both the student who desires a liberal education and the student who intends to enter graduate or law school.
