All applicants must have the equivalent of a 2.00 U.S. GPA or higher. A high school diploma is not required for students who are 18 years old or older.
All applicants must be 17 years old or older by their first semester start date. Students who are under 18 must submit a copy of the minor forms below with their application, and a copy of their high school diploma before the program start date.
Secondary School and/or College or University
Submit a copy of your transcript.
Studied for a minimum of 3 years in English at an international secondary school.
Attended a US high school or secondary school in a country where English is the primary language of instruction for at least one year.
Completed all years of study in a secondary school in Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Finnish, German, or Dutch countries and received passing grades in English.
Attended a U.S. college or university for at least one semester (non-ESL courses).
Attended at least one semester of non-ESL courses at a college or university where English is the primary language of instruction.
Standardized Tests:
Submit a copy of your test result showing one of the minimum scores listed below.
Cambridge: B2 (scale 160-180)
Duolingo: 90
IB English exam: 5
IELTS: 5.5
PTE Academic: 44
TOEFL: PBT 450, CBT 160, IBT 60
TOEIC: 850 or higher on both exams (Reading/Listening and Writing/Speaking)
English Language Schools:
Submit a copy of your language school certificate or transcript showing successful completion of one of the ESL levels listed below.
American Language Institute: Level 4
Converse International School of Languages: Level B2

This course of study is designed to prepare students for entry level positions in municipal and county law enforcement agencies (i.e. police or sheriffs departments), and/or to transfer to Bachelor's degree programs in Criminal Justice or related fields to prepare for federal or state-level law enforcement positions (i.e., FBI, DEA, INS, etc.).<br><br>Learning Outcomes - <br>Demonstrate an understanding of the American criminal justice system and the scope of responsibilities of the various local, state and federal law enforcement agencies beginning with arrest through parole.<br>Articulate the system's objectives, the crime problem, and role expectations of criminal justice personnel, and describe the various agencies and each subsystem within the system.<br>Describe the system's responsibilities to the community, factors in crime causation, the social implications of crime and communication barriers between the system and the community.<br>Articulate the differences between the major criminological theories of the causes of crime and how those theories relate to policies toward crime and criminal behavior.<br>Analyze legal concepts and make rational decisions about case processing.<br>Demonstrate knowledge of the rules of evidence, legal definitions and concepts of evidentiary law. Apply basic investigative proficiencies. Demonstrate critical thinking and analytical skills acquired in the social sciences in preparation for continuance of college-level education.
