国际学生入学条件
Your submitted high school transcript(s) should include your senior classes, class rank (if applicable), and latest grades earned. Postsecondary official transcript(s) from each institution attended are also required whether or not credit is desired or expected. Transcripts must be submitted to UConn directly from the secondary institution, either electronically or by mail in a sealed envelope.
All academic credentials not written in English must be accompanied by an official, certified English translation.
The minimum score requirement for the TOEFL is 550 (paper-based), 213 (computer-based), or 79 (internet-based), minimum score requirement for the IELTS exam is 6.5. Test scores must be sent directly to the University of Connecticut from the respective test provider. Meeting the minimum score requirements does not guarantee admission into the University.
The personal essay is required and provides the applicant an opportunity to add a unique voice to the application as well as demonstrate writing ability. The personal essay is a component on the Common Application or the Coalition Application and should range between 250 – 650 words.
Two letters of recommendation are optional but can distinguish an applicant's character and are preferred. Recommendation letters can be sent electronically, by fax, or by postal mail.

课程简介
Electrical engineering is the study of the laws of electrical energy and the principles of engineering in order to apply them to the generation, transmission, and use of electricity. With knowledge of electrical phenomena and technology, those trained in electrical engineering can design everything from power generating systems in dams to tiny electronic circuits for spacecraft, as well as electronic components that run computers, televisions, stereo systems, and automated factories. Four well-recognized branches of electrical engineering in which individuals may concentrate include power, communications, electronics, and control systems. Other areas recognized by the Institute of Electronics and Electrical Engineers for career possibilities include circuits and devices, industrial applications, electromagnetics and radiation, computers, engineering and the human environment, and signals and applications.

Electrical and electronics engineers design, develop, test, and supervise the manufacture of electrical and electronic equipment. Some of this equipment includes power-generating, controlling, and transmission devices used by electrical utilities, as well as lighting and wiring in buildings, automobiles, aircraft, radar and navigation systems, computer and office equipment, and broadcast and communications systems.

The undergraduate program of study is designed with sufficient breadth and depth to enable our graduates to work successfully in industry or government, or to continue studies in graduate school.

The electrical engineering curriculum provides a firm foundation in fundamentals, while also giving students exposure to current technologies for design and implementation. It strives for a balance between theory, laboratory and design experience. In the first two years of study, students are given a broad foundation in mathematics, physics, chemistry, computer programming, applied mechanics, communication skills and humanities. Introductory courses in computer science and electric circuit analysis are also taken in the sophomore year. In the final two years, students build upon their earlier course work, taking a set of required EE courses intended to provide the core knowledge expected of every electrical engineer.
