国际学生入学条件

Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree from a program that is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology at the time of graduation or provide satisfactory evidence of an equivalent academic background to The University of Akron.

Applicants with a Master of Science degree must provide satisfactory evidence of an equivalent engineering baccalaureate background to the Dean of the College of Engineering.

Applicants must submit official undergraduate transcripts, undergraduate grade point average, three letters of recommendation, statement of purpose, and resume.

Applicants with a bachelor's degree must have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.0/4.0.

Applicants with a master's degree must have a cumulative graduate grade point average of at least 3.5/4.0.

课程简介

在完成规定的课程学习，初步考试和研究项目后，将授予学生高分子工程博士学位，该研究项目将导致撰写书面论文，以学术方式描述该研究。一个学生及其顾问可以计划必要的其他课程，以帮助论文研究项目和/或使学生的学术和职业成长。硕士学位不是获得博士学位的先决条件，但是，硕士和博士生的第一学年将基本相同。
The doctorate in Polymer Engineering is awarded to a student after the completion of a prescribed program of course studies, preliminary examinations and a research project that leads to the preparation of a written dissertation describing the research in a scholarly manner. A student and his/her adviser can plan any additional courses necessary to aid in the dissertation research project and/or that allow for the academic and professional growth of the student. A master's degree is not a prerequisite for the doctorate, however, the first year of study will be substantially the same for both the master's and the doctoral student.
