Students having a Master’s degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering from an accredited school are eligible for regular admission to graduate study in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering if their grade point is 3.3 or above (based on a 4.0 scale) during the graduate program. Students are allowed to apply for the Doctoral Program directly after receiving a bachelor’s degree if their graduate point average is 3.3 or above (based on a 4.0 scale) in their undergraduate study. 课程简介

This guide explains some of the requirements for the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Degree in Mechanical Engineering and Aerospace Engineering. The information provided here supplements the NMSU Graduate School requirements for Doctoral Degrees, which are the minimum requirements. Thermal Sciences and energy research in the department encompasses the areas of thermodynamics, nano- to macro-scale heat transfer with and without phase change, mass transfer, fluid dynamics, physics, materials, and engineered and tailored surfaces. Some of the current research thrusts are in renewable and alternative energy, hypersonics, hydrogen power, water desalination, thermal management, and long-duration space transportation.
