国际学生入学条件
Minimum TOEFL Requirements ibt/pbt: 100/ 600.
A degree in chemical engineering is not required but applicants should be familiar with key concepts and their applications. This typically means applicants have degrees in other science and engineering disciplines such as bioengineering, biology, chemistry, materials science, mathematics, mechanical engineering and physics. We are looking for coursework or other experiences demonstrating use of higher-level mathematics (e.g. linear algebra, partial differential equations) and recommend completion of core chemical engineering courses (e.g. fluid mechanics, heat and mass transport phenomena, chemical reaction kinetics, thermodynamics). An MS degree is not a prerequisite for admission to our PhD program or for PhD degree conferral.
Applicants from institutions outside the U.S. must hold the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor's degree from a college or university of recognized standing
Statement of Purpose - Keep this component brief! No more than 2 pages.
Research Summary - Summary outline of your employment, research experience, and professional experience.
Recommendations from three people who can knowledgeably discuss your suitability for pursuit of the selected degree.
Bio-demographic information, educational history and test results (official and self-reported scores and percentages).
Transcripts (Current, unofficial transcript uploaded in your application. Do not send physical transcripts to the department).
Statement of Purpose
Your Statement of Purpose gives you an opportunity to distinguish yourself beyond grades and test scores. Please keep your Statement of Purpose to 2 pages or less. You may choose to write about previous experiences, your personal and professional goals: Why graduate school? What might follow? What inspires you? What drives you? For PhD applications: Why is a research life a good fit for you? Have you ever written a proposal to do independent research, such as a National Science Foundation fellowship application? Is there something else about you that you think is important for us to know?
Letters of recommendation
Recommendations should be from full-time faculty, ideally, or others qualified to evaluate your potential for graduate study. Applicants should include one or more letters from a research advisor. At least one should be from a faculty member at the last school attended as a full-time student, unless you have been out of school for more than five years.
GRE and TOEFL examination requirements
For the 2020-2021 Admissions Cycle, we are not accepting GRE scores. We recognize the pressures of a standardized test during the COVID-19 pandemic and understand that a test of this nature may not yield results that are indicative of an applicant's aptitude or future success. GRE subject tests will also not be accepted.
Academic records, transcripts and other materials
Applicants must upload an unofficial copy of their transcript with their application. Official transcripts will only be required for applicants selected for admission. Do not send transcripts to the department unless explicitly asked to do so.

课程简介
The Doctor of Philosophy in Chemical Engineering is awarded after the completion of a minimum of 135 units of graduate work, satisfactory completion of any additional university requirements, and the following departmental requirements. Completion of an MS degree is not a prerequisite for beginning, pursuing or completing doctoral work. These courses are to be taken at Stanford. Any petition to substitute another graduate-level course for any of these core courses must be approved by the department chair. The remaining graduate-level science and engineering lecture courses may be chosen from any department. A student may petition the department chair for approval to include an upper-division undergraduate science or engineering lecture course. All proposals for PhD course work must be approved by the student's adviser and the department chair or his designee. Students working with a research advisor should enroll each quarter in the 500 series, 600 and 699 as appropriate and as study list unit limits permit. Students with questions or issues should see departmental graduate student services.
